Public Policy Polling: Huckabee is Most Electable Republican…Again

The new PPP national monthly survey that came out today shows for the fourth time in a row that Governor Mike Huckabee would be the best Republican to take on President Barack Obama in 2012.  The other thing that is apparent in this poll is that Huckabee is the only Republican with positive favorables among both men and women and across all age demographics while dominating three out of the four regions of the United States.

It seems that even though the past four PPP surveys have shown Huckabee as the strongest Republican against President Obama with the highest favorables the Rassmussen Poll chose to leave his name out completely in today’s numbers released showing head to head match-ups.  It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if Mitt Romney is tied with Obama in this Rasmussen Poll then Mike Huckbee would have been beating him if he would have been included.  Rasmussen is supposed to be a trusted pollster.  What a disappointment.

I shouldn’t be so hard on Rasmussen for doing this because Huckabee’s own employer, Fox News, leaves him out of the 2012 line-up continuously and only refers to the two out of ten or more polls that he has not topped.  The blatant disrespect of him by Faux News is sickening and confirms my belief that they and their precious country club Republican buddies are scared to death that “one of them” may not be our standard bearer.

I have not commented much on the other 2012 prospects mainly because it is so early and also because every other week one seems to do something that is catastrophic to their career.  I’m still trying to make sense of why Mark Sanford is still Governor of South Carolina and what Governor Palin’s plans are once she leaves office since something new falls out of her mouth every day, and it is only a matter of time before the electorate sees the connection between ObamaCare and RomneyCare.  All I know is that Mike Huckabee’s star is still shining pretty brightly.
